    Product Description

Animato Strings is introducing the Horace Bow Guide to Australia!

This accessory is used to help keep the students bow straight and at the appropriate position on the strings.  It's a clever design. It doesn't prevent the strings from vibrating and gives full movement over all four strings.  It is great for students who need to learn to use the bow correctly or have trouble keeping their bow straight. The arm learns the correct movement by being gently guided by the Horace Bow Guide.

They come in two sizes for cello:

    1/4 - 1/2

    3/4 - 4/4

As seen in the above sizes, one size fits more than just one size cello, so the Horace can easily be transferred from one size cello to another.  The video shows the violin version. A video for the cello version will soon be available.

AS a total beginner was dubious about buying one of these but honestly it has changed my bowing for the better. Now i've just got to work out my bow holding hand!!

    2. Great invention

I bought this for my child because she was struggling to keep her bow straight in lessons, and I have found a huge improvement! Her teacher is really happy with her progress and after a few months with the bow guide, she is able to play straight without it. Very happy.

    3. Great aide

I've only been learning the Cello for a few months and this guide has helped me keep my bow straight at home which makes it sound better :-)because I'm not bowing all over the place.

Its so easy to use and packs away compact, great aide to use at home.
      Thanks Animato

    4. Little investment can go a long way

My daughter has been learning Cello for a couple of years. One challenging aspect is that she wasn’t able to play parallel to the bridge or perpendicular to the string consistently (skewness). Whilst she continues to practice with good attention including playing in front of the mirror, the effect substantially increases when she starts practicing with Horace bow guide. This bow guide restricts the bow’s up and down movement, therefore, resulting the bow hand to memorise/play the bow parallel to the bridge more frequent. The improvement doesn’t happen overnight, it needs efforts and perseverance. You can start with 5 minutes, then increase to 10 minutes, etc. The cost of this bow guide is trivial when comparing the cost of a cello or your time/effort. I highly recommend this bow guide to all Cello learners. It has been more than six (6) months now. My daughter still uses it from time to time, a must have teaching aid.

I am finding the Horace Bow Guides that I bought for Cello and for 4/4 violin to be very helpful.

I saw this product on your website and I decided to try it out.
My bow was all over the place on the cello...but amazingly it worked very well without much effort.
      It's a genius invention.
      Thanks
