    Jirasek, Forgotten Metaphor for Violin & Piano (Schott)

    Forgotten Metaphor was written for violin and piano in 1995/96.  Jirasek dedicated the work to Paul Chou and Paul Salerni.

    Jan Jirasek is a Czech composer and actor.  He studied composition at the Janáček Academy of Musical Art in Brno with Professor Zdenek Zouhar.  He has worked as a music editor and producer at Czech Radio.  In 2000, he was awarded the prestigious film music prize (The Czech Lion Award) for the music he composed for the film Wild Flowers.  He also won this in 1997 with the film An Ambiguous Report About the End of the World.
