    Product Description

The Wrist Rascal: fixes the collapsing left wrist.

For beginning student,  a collapsed left wrist can be one of the biggest problems to overcome.  The Wrist Rascal trains the left wrist to stay in the appropriate position by mimicking the feel of having the hand against the heel as it does in third position.  A collapsed wrist is not possible in third position!  After using the wrist rascal for a few weeks,  the student's muscle memory takes hold and the left wrist is trained.  It also supports the development of vibrato.

The large size is for 4/4 size violins and 15- 17" violas,  medium is for 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 size and small is for 1/8 size or smaller.

    • Corrects the collapsed left  wrist.
    • Trains the 4th finger to stretch up to the correct placement.
    • Strengthens the muscles of the hand, specifically the too often neglected front portion responsible for keeping the 3rd and 4th fingers over the fingerboard.
    • Comfortable. Simply a foreshadowing of the hand being closer to the body as it will be when shifting begins.
    • The Wrist Rascal is a training device that should be used on and off, as with any other training tool, so that it doesn't become a crutch.
    • A great violin wrist practice aid!

    1. Wonderful Product

I use these in my violin studio. I tell the students to use it on for a while, then on and off as needed. Saves so much time and frustration always having to remind them to drop their wrist and align their fingers over the fingerboard. This tool makes them do what is necessary to play in tune with a good left hand shape. I highly, highly recommend this one. I had to get mine from the u.s. but this is great!
