Matthew Hoey
Matthew Hoey is a Brisbane composer, arranger, cellist and music teacher.
He graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University with a Bachelor of Music in 1990. He then completed a Graduate Diploma in Performance in 1991. He continued his studies at the Tasmanian Conservatorium with Christian Woytowicz.
Matthew is a strings teacher with Education Queensland at Middle Park State School, Grand Avenue State School, Springfield Lakes Secondary School and Centenary State High School.
He has performed with Brisbane Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Quartetto Bonetti (image on left with cellist Matthew
Hoey on right) and the Ady Ensemble. He is principal cellist with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra (formerly Brisbane Sinfonia). His works have been performed by Enharmonie Chamber Ensemble, Quartetto Bonetti and the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra.
