William Henry Dow was one of Australia’s greatest violin makers. He lived from 1834 to 1928. One of his violins is displayed in the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. The displayed violin was made in 1903 and carries the number 78. The violin at Animato Strings carries the number 70 and was made in the same year, that is, 1903.
